Now the kimbap on the other hand was not vacuum packed, but just wrapped in a complicated manner in several layers of plastic. Actually, once I got it all unwrapped, the kim was in a separate envelope from the rest of the packed rice. It was a little awkward, but I managed to wrap it up as designed. I've since learned there is a special technique to opening these kimbaps, and somehow the kim magically wraps itself around the rice as you remove the plastic wrappings (that is, if you follow the instructions precisely).
